The Polar Express

This last Saturday (Dec. 20th) Shawn's Mom and Dad took the grandkids and parents on the Polar Express. It is the Charlie Russel Chow Chow, but in December is turns into the Polar Express. We went to the North Pole and picked up Santa. Landon got to look out the only de-thawed window on our train car, and got to watch Santa come out of his home at the North Pole and get on the train. Santa then went around to every kid on the train and talked to them. Mrs. Clause came around and gave all the kids bells from Santa's sleigh. It was a lot of fun. Very cold but fun! They read the book the Polar Express to the kids, and wrote letters to Santa, and drank hot coco and ate yummy cookies! We went on the late ride, so Landon got a little tired on the way back from the North Pole. But all in all it was very enjoyable! The next day Landon couldnt wait to call Grammy Dauna, and tell her all about it. He got on the phone and said, "Grammy I went on a train to the North Pole, and Santa got on!" I think he liked it!

Playing with Lyla

Last week Lyla (Jen and Lea Mitchell's daughter) came over to play. Its not very often that we get play dates, since there are not alot of kids around here Landon's age. So we were very excited to have a friend over. They played and had snacks! Of course I couldn't get them to both look at me at the same time to take a picture! Lyla is such a sweet little girl! We loved having her over!

He knows if you've been naughty or nice...

Santa made a small pit stop in Judith Gap yesterday, I think he was cold, since it was about 15 below. So he decided to stop to get warm! Landon hasnt seen Santa since he was 4 months old. Aunt Kristi and I took him to the Great Falls mall to see Santa and Santa's helper wouldn't stop calling Landon, Brandon. It wasnt a good 1st Santa visit. Landon now knows who Santa is and talks about him alot. I wasnt sure how this visit would go. But it went well. Landon was still kind of shy. He told Santa he wanted a monster truck. And he would leave him some cookies out! It was pretty cute to see him talking to Santa. And when we left he was so excited he saw Santa and talked to him. Tonight we are going on the Polar Express and Santa will be on there too!!! Hopefully we stay warm!

-21 without the wind chill, and no heat...

Wow, they werent kidding about how cold it was going to get. Last night (saturday) we had -21 without the wind chill, and our furnace got froze up... It was kind of scary... but thank God i married a heating and cooling guy, and a smart one!! All Shawn had to do was get on the roof and beat the ice off. It froze up again today, and im sure it wont be the last time in this winter wonderland. Not only is it freezing, Landon and Shawn have been fighting a cold, and our cells dont work. Awesome huh?! But im sure it could be worse! We just thank God everyday for everything, and for what he does for us. We know God will provide, and he truely only gives us what we can handle. Although at times we think its the end of the world... God knows we will pull through if we just put it in his hands, and have FAITH!!!

Mr. and Mrs. Mauws

December 6, Kristi and Tim became Mr. and Mrs. Mauws. It was a beautiful and enjoyable wedding. We couldn't be happier for them. Shawn, Landon and myself were all in the wedding. And Landon couldnt have been any cuter! This is the only picture i got, of Landon on Papa Pete. Congrats to Kristi and Tim, and we wish them a life time of happiness! Love you guys!!!

Ohh Christmas Tree... Ohh Christmas Tree

The Sunday after Thanksgiving, we decided to go get our tree. So we head to the hills in search of the perfect tree. There, was little snow on the ground, but we found some, and Landon had a ball playing in the barely there snow. On the way up to the mountains, when we started looking at the different trees, the first thing Landon said was, "Dad were is my chain saw?" His toy one of course... but like father like son, he was ready to cut down some trees. And as soon as we got home, he found his chain saw and was cutting at our tree!! Very funny! Every year I do some sort of theme tree, or at least I try. This year Shawn said no theme, we had to do colored lights, and all of Shawns ornaments from when we was born till now... (if thats not cute, that he has them all still) so anyways, our tree is more decorated on top them bottom, im sure everyone can guess why. And it may not be the "perfect" tree, but its our perfect tree.
